Middle East Political and Economic Institute (MEPEI) applied and received accreditation as International Observers Group for the upcoming Parliamentary Elections in Jordan scheduled to take place on the 23rd of January, 2013.
Through monitoring, dialogue and research, MEPEI has the mandate to watch for free, fair and transparent elections based on the principles of justice, equality of opportunity, and the rule of law.
MEPEI Observers maintain strict political impartiality, to provide an accurate assessment of the nature of election process for the benefit of the Jordanian people and for the benefit of the international community. MEPEI observes the Code of Conduct issued by the Independent Election Commission of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
On January, 15, 2013, the Middle East Political and Economic Institute observation group will arrive in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to start monitoring the parliamentary elections process.
The Liaison Officer and Observer, Project Manager Ms. Roxana APALAGHIE, is already in Amman to monitor the process, the rest of the group will arrive on 19th of January, 2013. MEPEI observers are going to meet official leaders as well as civil society in different electoral districts throughout the country.
