The Research Center at Cihan University of Duhok in cooperation with Middle East Political and Economic Institute (MEPEI), is pleased to invite you to a webinar on a Zooma platform entitled “The impact of the Russian-Ukraine crisis on the economic and security situation of the Middle East” hosted by (6) experts, diplomats and specialists in the field of international politics, economics, and security, from (MEPEI) and personalities from different European countries.
Flavius CABA-MARIA, the President of the Middle East Political and Economic Institute (MEPEI), and Chairman of Journal – MENA in Focus. He is a Managing Partner in International Competitive Solution, a company that provides legal, economic and business strategy consulting to firms and entities interested to invest in Middle East. He researches his PhD studies on the dynamics of Middle East international relations and holds a B.A. in Military Science and Organizational Management, a B.A. in Law and a M.A. in Political Science, and a certificate as Political Adviser (POLAD).
Liviu MUREȘAN, President of EuroDefense Romania. He is a former Senior Adviser to the Romanian Prime Minister and of the Minister of Interior. Also, he held the position of Director of the Romanian National Defense College.
Ecaterina MAȚOI, Program Director of MEPEI. She holds a PhD in Intelligence and National Security, a Dr. phil des. title in Middle Eastern Studies, and a M.A. degree in Political Sciences, Security and Diplomacy specialization.
Radu MUSETESCU, International Economic Research Director of MEPEI and the Director of International Economic Relations Department in Bucharest University of Economic Studies. He is a member of the Director Board in the Romanian Society of Economy (SOREC), member of the Romanian Association for the Promotion of Critical Infrastructure Protection (ARPIC) and the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), and also a reviewer for the Romanian Journal of European Affairs. He holds a PhD in International Economic Relations on “Strategic alliances between companies at international level”.
Alexandru GEORGESCU, Expert (Scientific Researcher) with the Department for Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Protection of the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics ICI Bucharest. With a PhD in Risk Engineering for Critical Infrastructure Systems with a thesis on Critical Space Infrastructures, he is actively involved in advancing Critical Infrastructure Protection and Resilience issues through cooperation at international level and has worked on international projects for the European Space Agency and others. He is affiliated with the European Center for Excellence for Blockchain, the Romanian Association for the Promotion of Critical Infrastructure Protection, with the Romanian Association for Space Technology and Industry, and EuroDefense Romania.
Prof. Florin BONCIU, professor at the Romanian-American University, scientific researcher I at the Institute of “World Economy” and active participant of the European Institute in Romania. He held the position of Dean of the “Faculty of European Economic Studies” and Vice-Rector for scientific research at the Romanian-American University and is the head of the department “World Economy” at the Institute of World Economy. He is a member of professional organizations/ associations, such as the Romanian Society of Economics (SOREC), the editorial staff of the Romanian Journal of European Affairs, the editorial staff of the Global Economic Observer, and the Scientific Advisory Board of the European Institute of Romania.
Nawar al-Saadi, Director, Research Center, Cihan University DUHOK. He is an Iraqi economist and a university professor. He has a Ph.D. in International Economy from the University of Bucharest/ Romania. He is best known for his book “Globalization of a Free Economy”. He has many scientific papers published in European universities and various international journals.
